Prof. Dr. Dan Atar

Cardiologist

Prof. Dan Atar is Scientific Director and Professor of Cardiology at the University of Oslo, Norway. He has authored more than 570 articles and book chapters (H-index 88) and holds fellowships from major international societies, including FESC, FACC, FEHRA, and Inaugural FAHA.

Prof. Atar is a recognized leader in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy. He served as Chair of the ESC Working Group on Cardiovascular Pharmacotherapy and has contributed to multiple European Society of Cardiology (ESC) guideline committees, including the atrial fibrillation guidelines (2010, 2012, 2016), STEMI guidelines (2012), and the Universal Definition of Myocardial Infarction (2018).

Within the ESC, he has held several key leadership positions: elected Council and Board Member (2012), Vice President (2014), and Treasurer (2018).
